Being that I’ve been only out of college for a year, the struggle is still real. Yes, I’m “adulting” and it’s not as fun as you think. I have to pay rent, bills, and don’t even get me started with student loans. With the money I have left, I usually try my best to split it between shopping and groceries. I thought this would be a good time to give myself a budget when I go to the mall.

I decided to take a trip to Aventura Mall and visit a few stores to see what I can find. My budget for my time being there was $100.00 and I couldn’t go over. The first store I walked into was H&M (turned out to be the only store haha) and as soon as I walked in, multiple pieces caught my eye. The hard part about shopping on budget is your budget because sometimes when you see pieces you love, you want to purchase them all.

This patent skirt was the first thing I saw, I immediately grabbed my size to try on. My whole idea was to make an outfit with my budget of $100.00. As I walked around, I pulled a few more items off of the racks to try on. While walking to the dressing room, I spotted this top. It kind of reminded me of the movie, “Beetlejuice.” Don’t ask me why, it’s just what popped in my head at the time haha. I took it off the rack and brought it to the dressing room with me.

I tried on all the items and came out with this outfit below. I added up what my total might be and I still had some money left to accessorize. I found this yellow hand bag for $17.99 to brighten the outfit up and some stylish rings, as well. When I got to the register my total was $94.14. I felt accomplished because now I know I can find outfits on a budget.

In one of my previous posts titled: “Shift Dresses: The Redefinition of the Feminine Shape” I talked about some history of shifts dresses. I know what you’re thinking: “How many shift dresses can one girl have?” The answer is many because of all the styles that are out there. This shift dress is from TOBI  and as soon as I saw it the word “Business” popped in my head. I thought to myself great, I can style it as if I’m going to work. Pin stripes always give me that feeling of business. There other ways you can wear it, as well. For example, you can wear it without a shirt underneath and pair it with some 4 in., open toed, nude heels or you can go for a more casual look. The color navy can be paired with colors such as white, beige, yellow, bright pink and green. I went with the color white because that’s mostly what I own. Simple and Easy.

I styled the All Business Navy Shift Dress with an H&M ruffled blouse underneath and my Fabiola’s. I kept it simple because sometimes simple works best. With this outfit I can walk into my job confidently and conquer anything the day throws at me, all  while looking fabulous.

Gaga for gingham! All the fashionistas and IT girls were definitely going gaga for gingham. The gingham trend has been seen everywhere this past summer season from shirts and blouses to dresses and pants. The print came in different shades and gingham looks were created in fresh new ways by all the designers.

These gingham pants were an item I needed, when I was shopping at TOBI. I didn’t have anything gingham in my closet and it was a piece I missed out on styling. The pants are designed like those sweatpants you used to wear as a kid with the elastic on the bottom, but these have a fashion twist on it. The gingham print pants have elastic on the bottom with black, white and black color scheme. The pants have pockets, which are great to slide your phone into or anything else handy that you carry. The fit is loose at the top of your waist and as it gets down to the calf and ankle it starts to hug the leg, giving it more of a fitted look.

I styled my pants from TOBI with a off the shoulder top, Pigalles Follies and accessorized with my vintage clutch from Clositherapi Vintage and sunglasses from Urban Outfitters.
