Let’s talk Vintage! I never thought that I would be into vintage because to me it was just a bunch of old pieces that people didn’t want anymore. I had to do my research and I’ve come to know that “vintage style” is defined as clothes from a previous era. Also, clothing that is vintage is usually between 20-100 years old.

When you’re a part of the fashion blogging world, finding vintage pieces is definitely a plus! Wearing vintage pieces has become very fashion forward lately. You could imagine how I felt when I found about www.clositherapi.com. What was even more great, was finding out that it was run by one of my friend’s mom’s from back home in PA. This website has a ton of vintage pieces such as clothes, shoes, accessories, and more. It’s has stuff for both men and women, as well. I have purchased two pieces from this website and couldn’t be happier.

My latest purchase consisted of this Vintage 1960s Pucci+ Esque Swing Coat. I’m a sucker for a statement coat! A swing coat is coat that swings with the wearer’s movements. They were made to cover women’s full skirts and dresses of the 1950’s.The designs on the coat are abstract and have neutral colors. It’s a size medium but it works for me because I’ll be wearing heels with it. This coat was different from what I usually wear and that is why I had to have it. It’ll give me a chance to style different outfits for everyday and even going out. It is a piece I’ll be cherishing for a while.

Emilio Pucci is an Italian designer born in the year of 1914. He was born in the city of Florence, Italy into a well-respected family. Emilio got into the fashion world when he started designing ski outfits for him and his A-list friends. One day one of his friends was photographed in the ski outfit and the photo was published in Harper’s Bazaar. His designs featured sensual, free-flowing lines that followed the natural curves of the body. Women who wore these designs were able to take them from day-to-night. Pucci’s inspiration came from his travels and the natural landscapes of the Mediterranean. Emilio passed in the year of 1992 and his legacy continues to live on.

P.S. Thank You Kathleen and Daniel for the Gift Certificate! xoxo

You know that saying “Support People Who Support You”? Well for me, this saying has been coming to fruition more and more these days. All my friends have been accomplishing great things, whether it is starting their own business, succeeding in their new job, or even becoming certified to become an athletic trainer. All of them have been and continue to make me proud.  I need to recognize one person, at this moment, and his name is Donte’ Roberts.

Now Donte’ has been supporting me since day one and as goes for me.  He recently started his own business called Words of Wisdome. I asked him some questions pertaining to his brand and here is his perspective:

1. What influenced you to start Words of Wisdome?

Words of Wisdome was influenced by a number of things. One of the more prominent influences was life. Words are powerful and it would be pretty hard to live a life without using them. I wanted to find a way to help people keep a positive mindset throughout their daily lives using words. Then, I began to notice how many people were attracted to caps (specifically dad hats). Everywhere I went someone would be wearing a cap, let’s say like a 1:6 ratio. The designs on the hat lacked creativity to me though. And in many cases the designs lacked substance. Why not use that space for something positive? From there, Words of Wisdome was born.

2. Why this brand?

God, no other reason. I had no intentions on doing anything remotely close to this. Honestly, I did not like selling anything to my friends prior to this. I would rather just give it to you, whatever “it” is. I could not keep ignoring the signs though. Everything came to me naturally.

3. What is Words of Wisdome to you?

Words of Wisdome is a company that supports all like-minded people. That does not mean we all agree on everything. One thing that we do agree on is that having a positive mindset can help us achieve positive results. We look ensure that everyone around us has a positive mindset. Whether you want to be a trillionaire or be the first in your family to finish high school, we support you. And we are here to provide extra motivation whenever that fuel starts to run low. I think it is a company where all people are equal and they positively impact one another. Collaboration is big to us because NOBODY can succeed without a team. Our existence as people was even a joint effort between two parents, so teamwork is pivotal for Words of Wisdome.

4. Short term goals, if any?

Our short term goals are to vigorously spread the message. The goal is to promote positive mindset that can lead to positive actions. If we can ensure that you keep a positive mindset, then we have succeeded. So many people live their lives doubting their potential. We are often consumed by a life of fear and negative thoughts instead of actually trying. We want to change that. And be the support or the extra push to keep you on the right track regardless of what is going on in that present moment.

Donte’s brand, Words of Wisdome, has had a great start since the hats came out. I can’t wait to see what else he has in store for the future.

This past season, white boots were definitely a shoe trend to look out for. I am all for a white shoe, especially a white boot. White boots remind me of the 60’s and how women used to wear them with funky print dresses, shorts, or neon-colored skirts. Nowadays, you see white boots paired with all different outfits. Since I never got to try the white boot trend, I thought I’d give it a try now.

I ordered these boots, which are called the Hawk Croc Boots, from Topshop. I had a little trouble figuring out what size to order because I’m a 7 and they only had a half size smaller or a half size bigger. Due to how European sizes are different from American sizes, it turned my decision into a guessing game. I chose a half size smaller. Once I bought them and actually tried them on , I realized I should have purchased a bigger size, and just added an insole. Regardless of the sizing, this boot has a pointed toe, croc finish, and angled heel. It is also made of 100% leather.

During the fall season, I observed how different people in the fashion world wore their white ankle boots. They were paired with a printed dress or top, or you can go for an all denim or black outfit. Below you can see how I wore my white ankle boots.
