When I came back from NY, I was laying on my couch trying to come up with ideas for my next blog post. I was looking through my blog notebook (yes, I have a notebook for my blog ideas) and I came across an idea I wrote down months ago. It was “Recreate a Celebrity’s Look (Budget Friendly).” Now I just had to figure out whose look I was going to recreate.

We all know Zendaya is one of my favorite celebrities, especially when it comes to fashion. Of course, I choose her! It took me a while to figure out though which look I was going to recreate until I scrolled passed her plaid Michael Kors set she wore on Good Morning America in 2017. I had just purchased a plaid dress from Zara and well your girl got to thinking.

I decided to recreate her look by using my plaid dress, which only cost 69.90 before tax. I started digging through my closet for shoes 1. to go with the dress  2. were a little similar to hers and 3. were affordable and  of course, I couldn’t find anything out of the 200 pairs I have. I ended up buying the Sevoivia last minute, as always. For accessories, I wore my gold-tone watch and a few gold rings. I didn’t wear a necklace and I know I should’ve, so my bad folks. The goal was to only spend $100, but clearly I went over after buying the shoes. The estimated total that I spent for this look was $180 and that just includes the shoes and the dress. I promise next time I will be spot on with the budget!

Hey Everyone!

This past weekend I got to go to NY! Now I used to go when I was little but this time I finally got to visit as an adult and by myself. Have you ever gotten a feeling of knowing you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be? Well I have because as soon as I stepped out of the airport, I immediately started crying (tears of joy) and smiling. I was genuinely happy to be in New York City.

The hustle and bustle of the city is exactly how I imagined it to be. Now I was totally unsure if I should call a taxi or just use my Lyft app and what do you know I called a Lyft haha. I stayed in Harlem at a friend’s place and his family was so hospitable. I got to take a nap after I arrived because I was exhausted from waking up so early to catch my flight and b being a last minute packer. That night I went to a restaurant called Melba’s and had the BEST chicken and waffles with strawberry butter. Honestly, my life was changed haha ! It was delicious !

Friday was my busiest day ever and of course everything that could go wrong went wrong. I woke up and prepared for my photo shoot. I waited for the make up artist to arrive to my friend’s place and around 12:30PM she sent me a message saying her Uber had got into an accident. Now she informed she was okay but they wanted her to go to the emergency room as a precaution. Now here I am stuck without make up and I’m freaking out because my shoot was at 2PM and I had a 45 minute drive to where I needed to meet my photographer. All I’m saying is shout out to MAC for squeezing me in last minute and giving me a bomb look. FYI my shoot got pushed back until 2:30 but I was still late. My shoot went amazing and then I was off to the Adriana Sahar, Matte Brand and Sweet Talk Swim Show.

The show was supposed to start at 5PM and well, unfortunately we did not get inside until 7:30PM. I know you’re probably asking why didn’t I leave and it’s only because I was dying to see Adriana Sahar’s collection. Due the show starting so late I missed the Fashion Week Online Gala and I was upset at first but I saw my first show and I was front row. The show was beyond amazing and all three designers showed out! After the show, I ended up at Five Guys because I didn’t get to eat all day nor was it even on my mind.

On Saturday, I got to go shopping in Soho with two of my friends and it was so beautiful to me with all the stores and the architecture of all the buildings, I just loved it. The negative part of it was that it was very touristy, but it was still fun. That night I got to spend time with my Aunt Shawn and Uncle James at this very intimate restaurant called Belle Harlem. It was good to spend time with them because I haven’t seen them in years. They, also, took me to a bar in Harlem that they’ve been going to for years and even that was a great time! I barely even sleep that night because my flight was so early the next morning. I can definitely say I had a successful trip to NY.

I can’t wait to go back!

A while ago, I was looking for some new vintage places to shop because usually I order from Clositherapi Vintage and sometimes you want to try the pieces on before even buying them, ya know ? I was scrolling through Instagram and happened to find The House of Findings (of course, I followed them!) They had some pretty amazing pieces on their page, which lead me to going to check out the actual boutique.

The House of Findings is located in the cutest little spot called Upper Buena Vista! They have everything from the 1890s-1990s! Vintage pieces are classic pieces to have in your closet. When it comes to fashion, a lot of the trends from other eras circle back around.

At the time, I was looking for pieces that I could wear to Miami Swim Week Events. I happened to come across this 80s looking colorful skirt and as soon as I tried it on I fell in love with it. I knew exactly what I was going to wear it with too. I, also, tried on a bright blue, flower printed top (which happened to fit me perfectly!) I purchased both items and I can definitely say I’ll be making multiple shopping trips at the House Of Findings.

I decided to style the bright blue, flower printed top with some white, denim jeans (similar ones are linked) with a fringe hem and the Zena. For the skirt, I wore a metallic halter top from Zara and the Wonder Pump.

Let me know what you think!
